Homemade Braised Tofu2013-11-27
Homemade Braised Tofu is a part of a Chinese family regular dinner menu.This dish takes almost no time to cook and very delicious.It can be served with rice if you ‘d like.
- 400g tofu
- 50g pepper
- 1 tablespoon chilli bean sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 onion
Cut tofu into 1/4 inch thick.
Heat oil in a pan and add tofu.
Pan fry tofu until until golden brown and lightly crispy on both sides,set aside.
Cut scallion and ginger into strips.
Cut pepper,red pepper and onion into chunks,set aside.
Heat oil in the pan,saute scallion and ginger until fragrant.
Add chilli bean sauce and oyster sauce.
Add fried tofu and stir until mix well.
Add 1 tablespoon sugar.
Add half bowl of water.
High heat until boiling,then reduce heat to a simmer, stir occasionally.
Simmer until the sauce is reduced down to about 2 tablespoons.Add onion,pepper and red pepper,do a few quick stirs.
Stir-fry until pepper cooked throughly.
